Is this the beginning of a new world or the death of democracy?

With Joe Biden winning the election and becoming the next president after the November Presidential Election, one of the most shocking events have been played out as the world’s so-called greatest democracy has been assaulted by its own. Hundreds of protestors supporting Donald Trump wreaked havoc in Washington DC which resulted in multiple reported injuries and one civilian losing her life in the melee.

All of this chaos was the result of Trump’s supporters following the last president’s call to protest as Donald Trump like a kid wasn’t able to digest the fact that he had to act like a grownup and give up the chair. The president claimed on multiple occasions that the election result was biased and was the result of fraudulent voting. What started as a spark against Trump’s defeat turned into a wildfire as the protestor laid siege to the Capitol. The rioters brawled and pushed past the officers and their metal barricades forcing their way into the building. All this ruckus lead to the senate suspending work and going into hiding with the lawmakers to save themselves from meeting their makers.

The riot was nothing less than a shock to the world leaders that lead to them resigning including NSA’s Robert O Brien.

Despite Biden’s victory the fallout being seen across the country will pose a threat to American democracy from within. As the quote goes an apple is destroyed from inside so is the state of America being brought down by its people. It’s high time for Americans to accept the reality that everything isn’t normal and the sugar-coated information sharing has to be stopped before it makes a cavity in the country.

The aftermath of the protest is such that Twitter has banned Trump and his team citing the risk of “Incitement of Violence”. It’s an irony how a man who built his presidency run on his online popularity has been snatched of the same. Twitter just snatched the only good thing in his life, and people are enjoying it seeing the memes being posted of the same.

In all seriousness, Mr. Trump has to leave office on 20th Jan as Joe Biden would be appointed to the chair. An emergency declaration has been extended to 21st January, a day after Biden becomes the president of America. The FBI warning of armed protest being planned by trump supporters has pushed the National Guards into action as in the coming week 15000 of them would be deployed to the streets of Washington. A few lawmakers have even requested army deployment till the inauguration is done.

It is not even even funny anymore to see how a county that proudly calls itself the greatest democracy and who likes to belittle other countries for their governance isn’t able to work with its people. Is this the fall of America or are they just getting started?
